Thanks for the quick response. I just checked the air pressure and it is at 33 p.s.i. Not sure what to check next.

Valve Tech / CSV1A - Pressure drop for moment before starting
« on: May 04, 2021, 09:48:56 AM »
Been using the CSV1A for about two years. Recently the water pressure takes a noticeable momentary drop to zero water pressure for less than a second as the well tank kicks on as if there is a backwards feed. Is this normal? What is causing it?

Oh, that cleared it up. The 2-3 gpm is for set up. I misinterpreted it to mean the valve needs to be limited to that gpm when in normal use.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Just installed CSV1A... The only way I can get the demand to under 3 gpm is to reduce the house water pressure to about 30 psi. When I set it to 50 psi, I get about 5 gpm.

Can someone explain "Once the pump has come on, adjust your demand to 2-3 gpm. This reduced demand is important. You do not want to set the valve with more gpm going through it than this." from csv1a-installation-instructions and why it is important?

I have the 4.5 gallon backstop pressure tank (12-a102) and the instructions page also says the working pressure should be 50 psi.

Edit: I have a 7gpm 1/2hp submersible pump
