Title: CSV's and leaving the water trickle to stop Freezing?
Post by: kirkdj on January 12, 2014, 06:45:28 PM
If a CSV is installed can I still leave the water running at a trickle pencil lead thin to prevent freezing and to cycle the system some when it's freezing?  Or will the pump constantly run?   :o

Thanks.......

No problem letting the water trickle with a CSV.  If this is something that you need to do often, you might want to add an additional pressure tank to the 4.5 gallon size tank that is most common with a CSV.  But you don't want a very large tank or the well head may freeze before the pump comes back on.  I would say to use no larger tank than about a 20 gallon size that holds 5 gallons of water.
