Title: CSV125 Leaking When Power Goes Off
Post by: bajanboy on September 25, 2020, 05:40:28 PM
Hi what would cause a CSV125 to start leaking water if there is a  power outage and  the pressure tank goes empty ??
there was a power outtage and the pressure tank ran out of water and I found water coming from the CSV125,
what would cause this to happen??
Once the pump starts back working the CSV stops leaking water...

The CSV125 uses an o-ring seal.  It takes pressure to push the o-ring into the crack and stop the leak.  Usually doesn't leak when the power is off unless there is backflow causing a vacuum in the CSV.

If it continues to leak the o-ring is not the only problem.  The tube that slides through the o-ring is either scratched with sand or slimed over with something like iron bacteria.  If the tube is scratched a new o-ring won't help.  If it last less than a year we will warranty it even if it is sand or something, but we would prefer you use that credit towards a CSV1A that can handle debris without any problem.
