Title: CSV1A - Pressure drop for moment before starting
Post by: adelphikos on May 04, 2021, 09:48:56 AM
Been using the CSV1A for about two years. Recently the water pressure takes a noticeable momentary drop to zero water pressure for less than a second as the well tank kicks on as if there is a backwards feed. Is this normal? What is causing it?

You may have a bad tank or at least the air charge is too high.  40/60 switch means you need 35 PSI air in the tank.  And this is checked with a tire gauge after turning off the pump and opening a faucet to drain all the water from the tank.

Thanks for the quick response. I just checked the air pressure and it is at 33 p.s.i. Not sure what to check next.

Take the cover off the pressure switch. See if the points snap together when it drops to 40.  Water should be coming from the pump instantly when the pressure switch snaps together.
