Cary,

What would the backpressure at the 7.5 GPM Flotec/Pentair FP4322-08 pump be with the CSV set at 40 into a 20 gallon Well-X-Trol WX-202 tank? At what pressure should I start to be alarmed and shut it off?

Thanks Cary, I'll give it try.

It is a 30-50 switch with the CSV set at 40psi like you recommended. Tank is set at 28psi. Pump keeps building pressure when the water is not in use when the sensing line is attached to the CSV. Works normal when the sensing line is attached to the pump.

My mistake Cary, the pump never shut off WITHOUT the water running. The pump pressure went up to 60psi so I shut the pump off manually because I was worried the pressure would get too high. What should the back pressure be before the pump will shut off? I remember reading that the CSV does create some back pressure.

So I don't know what I did wrong piping this up. At first I attached the pressure switch line to the CSV where the gauge is attached in the photo below. The pump never shut off with the water running. I put the sensing line back to where it was originally and it shuts off at 50psi, but immediately drops to about 35psi. What am I doing wrong Cary?

Cary,

I've ordered the CSV and the 4.5 gallon tank since I already have a new pressure switch. The switch is located on the pump, with the sensing pressure coming from the pump itself as you can see in the photos. Is this configuration ok to keep or do I have to move the pressure switch to the CSV itself?

Thanks,
Frank

So when I order it I should have it pre set for 50psi Cary?

Long story about this, which I can tell in another post if asked to. Photos attached. I rent, so know nothing about the well, and the out of state landlord said to fix it. The pump is holding pressure but short cycling and the tank seems waterlogged. The tank was trashed picked and installed. It's an Well-X-Trol WX-202. Landlord said it replaced a smaller tank. Old 3 story home with 2 full baths and 2 half baths and three outdoor hose bibs. The pump is a 7.5 GPM Flotec/Pentair FP4322-08 with a 30-50 pressure switch attached which I just replaced with new. Was doing research on the Terry Love forums is how I landed here looking at maybe installing a CSV1A with a small tank. Is this feasible with my current pump?

Thanks,
Frank
