Pump Sizing Help
« on: September 26, 2019, 08:00:37 PM »
Looking to replace an old cistern jet pump and bladder tank. Cistern is approx. 12' deep and near the pump. Current jet pump is 1/2 hp with a 33 gallon tank. There are 4 people in house with 3 full baths. Water pressure seems to be adequate (currently switch set at 30/50) but I am also looking to add a Watts (50 micron) whole house filter. I recently purchased the PK1A-LT with a 10 gallon tank but trying to decide between the Goulds J5S or the J5SH pump (1/2hp). Is the J5SH overkill or would that be a better choice over the J5S? Also, would it be better for the filter to be before the pump or after?

I would prefer the J7S.  More volume if needed that way.

Got it. Thanks for the feedback!!!
Would it be advisable to put the whole house filter before the pump and CSV or after? Thanks!

Filter after the CSV.
