Winter freezing on lake water line
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:07:37 AM »
We have a 1 1/4" line to a submersible pump in the lake which freezes up in winter.  No way to dig it in far enough to avoid freezing.

Can we remove the check valve from the pump and release water back to the pump on each cycle.?

Install a larger holding/pressure tank high in the house to reduce cycling?

Yes you can.  But you will need a good air vent/vac valve before the check valve at the pressure tank.
