PRV and pressure
« on: January 17, 2020, 12:46:47 PM »
Hi Cary,
I am trying to adjust pressure switch and right now I am at spreed of 48PSI and 80 PSI
However, when it gets close to 80PSI PRV starts making high pitch noise. Next thing this goes for like a minute, water is discharging via PRV and pressure gauge needle goes up and down small increments. Like whole system is kind of vibrating.
Is that normal for PRV to kick in on pressure around 80PSI and up?
Do I need to change anything on the system.

Just to clarify, I am very happy with system and it does work really well. Pressure swirtch is frankly pain to configure but that is fine. Only thing is PRV noise and water discharge...

A regular Square D FSG2 pressure switch will only turn up to about 75 PSI before the spring has no daylight between the coils and will not work.  Loosen all the way on the small adjustment screw and leave it that way.  Then adjust the large screw to get the pressure switch to shut off where you want.

The PRV is adjustable.  Just take off the cap and tighten the adjustment screw until it quits leaking, then tighten another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
