Psidekick pressure switch and booster pump wiring
« on: August 19, 2022, 09:07:25 AM »
I'm installing the PK1A sidekick with a Grundfos JP 16 10 187 1-HP booster pump. The pump is drawing from an unpressurized storage tank. I want to be sure I understand the wiring of the PK1A pressure switch to the booster pump. I have the wiring diagram for SCV-jet pump from the SCV instructions. My question is on the pressure range settings of the SCV and booster pump. The SCV pressure switch is set at 40-60 psi and its L1/L2 terminals connected to the power supply, and its M1/M2 terminals connected to the booster pump. The SCV itself is set for 50 psi. The L1/L2 terminals on the booster pump pressure switch are left unconnected. The booster pump pressure swtich comes preset to 30-50 psi. Am I correct that I don't have to adjust the booster pump pressure switch at all since the SCV pressure switch will control the pump operation? I want the system to run 40-60 psi with the SCV constant pressure setting at 50 psi.

When using our wiring diagram for "jet pumps" the existing pressure switch is just being used as a junction box to connect the wires from the pressure switch after the CSV to the motor wires.

That’s what I thought. Thanks.
