New well

New well with a 3 hp submersible. Should get around 30 gpm. Will a PK1A run this set-up? I had already purchased the csv for another application so I was going to try to use it here. Thanks!

A CSV1A is limited to about 25 GPM.  But if you never use more than 25 GPM it will work with that pump.  However, a 3HP needs about 3 GPM to stay cool and the regular CSV1A has a 1 GPM minimum for 2HP and smaller.  We can swap out the gut pack called an "A-Cart" in the CSV1A to make it a CSV1A-3.  The -3 means it has 3 GPM minimum and will work with that pump from 3 GPM to 25 GPM.  It will also fill the tank at 3 GPM instead of 1 GPM, so a little larger tank is needed.  I would recommend about a 44 gallon size pressure tank that holds 10 gallons of water.

Or we can swap the CSV1A for a CSV125-3 or a CSV3A2T, which will give you the full 30 GPM if needed and already has the 3 GPM minimum.

Ok I'm open to whatever you think will work best. The csv has never been hooked up, so is there a chance I could return the parts I don't need and order the ones I do need?

Ok awesome! So what do I need to send back out of the PK1A kit or do I need to send it all back?

Several possibilities.  The easiest would be for you to order an " A-Cart" here.  https://cyclestopvalves.com/collections/valve-repair-parts/products/a-cart  Just put in the instruction box that it needs to be an "A-Cart-3".

Swap it out for the "A-Cart" in the kit you have now, and send that one back for a refund of the one you ordered.  Even swap.

You will then need to purchase a 20 to 44 gallon size tank somewhere locally, and add it to a tee after the PK1A kit.  Also note that the pressure switch in that kit will only work with a 3HP when using a deluxe control box with the extra relay.

But if you want to send The PK1A kit back for a full refund and start over with a different kit like the PK125 or even using the CSV3A2T we would be glad to do that.  These kits are made for pumps with flows larger than 25 GPM if that is important?  We can help if you want to give us some parameters and discuss it?

Best for that flow and that pump would be the CSV3A2T. https://cyclestopvalves.com/collections/csv3a-csv3b/products/csv3a2t-cycle-stop-valve-1

Any size tank from 44 to 86 would work fine.  You can find a Water Worker brand tank locally which is made by Amtrol and are good tanks.

Ok I am going to order the one you posted and hopefully send back the one I purchased if that's ok. If so, what kind of instructions do I need to follow for sending back? Also will a 36 gallon bladder tank work?

36 gallon is a little small, but would work.  You can use that one and just add another 44 gallon tank if you wanted.

Call Corye here to get an RGA number and the return shipping address.  806 885 4445

So I want to know if it would be ok for me to just return the csv and the tank and keep all the other hardware? I'm gonna need it to plumb in my setup. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Ok tell me if this is right please. Out of well with 1 1/4", next a union, next check valve, next 1 1/4 Tee, then a cut-off going same direction. Then from Tee, pressure relief valve, next gonna put a hose bib(??), next pressure gauge/pressure switch, and finally the tank. Any suggestions/corrections on the order of or if needed much appreciated! Thanks!!

I assume you mean out of the well with a 1 1/4" CSV, which would be fine.  But the only check valve you want is the one down on the submersible pump.  Do not add another check valve.  You also need the pressure switch and pressure tank as close together as possible.  The cut off on the main line should be after the tank and after the hose bib.
