as a side bar, can you illustrate for me why one would chose the cvs1a or the cvs140?  They appear completely different in design; what sways one over the other?  I think the 140 is adjustable?

Karen,

Thanks for the immediate response--I only checked back here to assure the post went on the forum properly!  The pressure tank is the same one in the link--the pump sits atop it; it's five gallons.

Pumps, Wells, Tanks, Controls / too many options--help!

Sir,

My house has roof cistern water, two tanks of 1000 gallons each, above ground, under cover.  I have this pump:http://images.harborfreight.com/manuals/47000-47999/47906.pdf  It's a POS, and I'm half-suspecting the pump quality to be the majority of my problems. (yes, I'm sufficiently embarrassed that I bought a harbor freight pump...).  It sits between the two tanks, so it's technically below the water line.  Home is two story, 1/1, with a propane insta-hot.  And that's why I'm here.  Which valve should I use?  I've only become more confused browsing the site and forum.  I can say, though our water is pure rain, we potentially have issues with algae or slime, although it's never non-potable.  I also have particle, carbon, and UV filtration on the system.

Thanks in Advance,

Chris and Mary
