How Long Will a CSV System Last?
« on: September 20, 2014, 11:24:20 AM »
The first CSV systems were built almost 20 years ago in 1993. Trying to get some feedback on how the oldest CSV systems have lasted is not easy because many of the systems have outlasted their original owners. This pump station from Atchison, KS is one of our oldest. After the owners did a little greasing and cleaning of the old system, we helped them check the pressure adjustments over the phone and everything is still working very well. Thanks to Steve for sending us a recent picture and letting us know the system is still working fine.

The Cycle Stop Valve is disruptive to the pump industry because it makes pumps last longer and use smaller pressure tanks. Pump manufacturers hate this and will tell you anything, none of which is true, to keep you from using a CSV. Using big words like “excessive backpressure, cavitation, and radial deflection, is an act of desperation. Talking you into a VFD, which actually shortens the life of your pump, is much more profitable for the manufacturer.

Cycle Stop Valves have been replacing VFD’s, water towers, and big pressure tanks since 1993. Now it is 2012. The oldest CSV systems are nearly 20 years old and still working fine. I think that speaks for itself.
