Help!! what kind of valve is this???
« on: August 23, 2016, 06:38:35 PM »
Hi there...
we have a well system on the house we bought and it's approx 30 years old. we have been trying to figure out what this valve is...anyone know what it is??.We have been trying to find out and no one seems to know, and the company is out of business..It is directly off our well pump line. When the line comes into the house from well-this valve is first- then it goes to the well pressure tank? is it a check valve? an older type csv? my iron is off the charts and we are replacing everything-but this is the very important first thing we need to find out. It appears to be weeping through a bottom pinhole type opening, the side appears to have a screw and that's it.Any help would be much appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

I am guessing that is some kind of micronizer.  It is suppose to add air to the water as it passes by on the way to the tank.  Adding air is a way to help get rid of Sulfur or Iron.
