This is best way I have been able to explain how to “de-waterlog” a bladderless tank.
When an air compressor is available….
Turn off the pump.
Open a faucet or several faucets.
Hook up the air compressor and let it fill the tank with air.
When the air starts coming out any of the faucets, shut off the compressor, close the faucets, and turn the pump back on.
If you cannot connect an air compressor, a fitting in the upper part of the pressure tank must be removed to allow air into the tank. Without removing a fitting, the tank works like a straw with a finger covering the top. The water will not drain out of the straw until you remove your finger, like it won’t come out of the tank until it can get some air in the top.
