Pond well

I have a 6" well with a 7.5hp pump free flowing into my pond. Since the pond is now filled I would like to accomplish two things, First to provide household and irrigation water and second to provide an adjustable flow to the pond to balance seepage and evaporation. My thought is to put a cycle stop valve on the branch to the house and a ball valve on the branch to the pond. The pump would run continuously as it does now. Will this work or is there a better approach?

Hi Bill
The CSV will do just what you are asking.  However, you need to put your ball valve to the pond after the CSV.  This way the CSV will let you vary the flow to the pond and take care of everything else.  If you put the tee to the pond before the CSV, you would have ot run it wide open to keep the pump from cycling.
