Check Valve Installation Question

Hello,
The PK1A Pside-Kick installation instructions state that it includes everything except the pump but yet my understanding is that you need/should install a check valve between the pump (water line coming into the house) and the cycle stop valve. Could someone please clairify. I'm leaning towards purchasing one of these kits but want to understand what additional items will be required.

Submersible pumps come with a check valve but you need to add one with a jet pump.o
