CSV 30/50
« on: October 09, 2020, 08:12:40 PM »
Hi

Can a cycle stop valve model CSV1A be used on a jet pump with a 30/50 pressure switch. I’ve added a photo of my system can you tell me if the valve is in the correct location. I’ve added an image below of the hook up is it correct. Currently no matter how much i adjust the csv it does not keep my pump running. I Inspected the inside of the CSV valve it it’s clean inside and the diaphragm is in good condition. I can screw the adjustment bolt all the in and nothing happens, i do this when the shower is running. Did i screw up somewhere. Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

It looks good!  You are just turning the adjustment bolt the wrong way.  That bolt needs to almost all the way loosened out to hold 45 PSI steady while running a 3 GPM shower or hose.  Everybody turns it the wrong way for some reason.  Just let me know how it works.  Thanks

Ok! I ran the shower and started to turn the screw out and it did not cause the pressure to stay constant no mater were the screw was set at on the CSV. The screw being turned all the way out did cause the pressure to go from 50 down down to 30 than kept dropping to 10 were the low water shut off switch kicked in. If i turn the screw inwards i can get the pump to turn on at 30 and off at 50 with no CSV benefit.  I’m wondering now if the valve is faulty.

Lost and confused.

You just loosened the bolt to much.  Stop when it is holding 50 while the shower is on.

Thanks! but thats what i did before i started to turn it in before realizing you need to turn it out, but either way it does not allow me to maintan  a constant Flow at any pressure between 30/50.

If loosening the adjustment bolt made the pressure drop to 10 it is working.  It should be barely in at all for 40 psi?

Thanks for all your help, i will try adjusting it again. Question! I have the pressure switch hose Attached to the Water tank manifold after the CSV it’s one foot long from the pump were the switch is attached over to the manifold, is that ok? or would the switch perform better placed on the manifold after the CSV and the power brought over to the switch from the pump.

A long sensing tube is fine as long as attaches after the CSV.  Text a picture of the system to 806 749 6289.
